The reconstruction of Islamic sciences has emerged as one of the most significant intellectual concerns in contemporary Islamic scholarship. Rapid developments in philosophy, science, technology, and socio-cultural thought have generated new questions and challenges that require a systematic re-examination of Islamic intellectual traditions. This study aims to explore the concept of the reconstruction of Islamic sciences, examine its contemporary requirements, and analyze the major intellectual and academic challenges confronting this process. Employing a qualitative and analytical research methodology, the study investigates the theoretical foundations of reconstruction in the light of the Qur'an, Sunnah, and the established principles of Islamic scholarship. It further examines the impact of modern intellectual trends, secularism, postmodernism, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and institutional stagnation on the development of Islamic sciences. The study argues that the reconstruction of Islamic sciences does not imply altering the immutable principles of Islam; rather, it seeks to reorganize and present Islamic knowledge in a manner that effectively addresses contemporary realities while preserving its authenticity. The paper concludes that a balanced reconstruction requires adherence to the primary sources of Islam, the objectives of Sharī‘ah (Maqāṣid al-Sharī‘ah), collective ijtihād, interdisciplinary research, and the constructive use of modern research tools and digital technologies. Such an approach can strengthen the relevance, vitality, and global contribution of Islamic scholarship in addressing contemporary intellectual and societal issues.
