Self-accountability and self-reformation constitute fundamental principles of Islamic moral and spiritual development. The Qur'an and Sunnah provide a comprehensive framework for nurturing human character through continuous self-evaluation, repentance, sincerity, and moral discipline. This study explores the Prophetic methodology of self-accountability and self-reformation in the light of the Qur'an and the Sunnah, employing an analytical approach to examine their theoretical foundations and practical applications. It highlights the significance of self-assessment before, during, and after actions, emphasizing the role of intention (niyyah), repentance (tawbah), remembrance of Allah (dhikr), patience (ṣabr), gratitude (shukr), and consciousness of Allah (taqwā) in the process of spiritual purification and ethical refinement. The study further examines how the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ cultivated these qualities among his Companions, thereby establishing a balanced model of personal and social reform. It also discusses the contemporary relevance of the Prophetic methodology in addressing moral decline, spiritual negligence, and psychological challenges faced by individuals in modern society. The findings suggest that the Prophetic model of self-accountability offers a practical and sustainable framework for character building, moral excellence, and holistic personality development. The study concludes that adherence to the Qur'anic and Prophetic guidance can significantly contribute to individual transformation and the establishment of a morally responsible and spiritually conscious society.
