This research explores the rhetorical magnificence and theological profundity of *al-Tahrīr wa al-Tanwīr*, authored by the distinguished Tunisian scholar Imam Muḥammad al-Ṭāhir Ibn ʿĀshūr (1879–1973). The study examines the artistic and rhetorical use of similes (تشبیہات) in Qur’anic exegesis, particularly in affirming the doctrine of Tawḥīd and refuting Shirk. Through an in-depth analysis of Qur’anic verses, the paper highlights how Ibn ʿĀshūr harmonizes classical scholarship with linguistic precision, literary aesthetics, and rational inquiry. His methodology presents a comprehensive approach to Qur’anic interpretation, combining tradition with reason, and demonstrates the Qur’an’s rhetorical brilliance in shaping theological discourse.
