Abstract

This study presents a comprehensive analysis of the role of television channels in Pakistan and India from the perspective of the Social Responsibility Theory. The core objective of this research is to determine whether television channels in both countries effectively provide adequate coverage of social issues and create awareness among the masses. Furthermore, the study compares public and state-owned television channels in Pakistan and India to explore the differences in their roles and performance in fulfilling their social responsibility to raise public awareness.
