The science of Tajwid plays a vital role in preserving the Quran by ensuring that its divine message is recited with precision, clarity, and aesthetic harmony, exactly as it was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad(PBUH). This discipline protects the correct articulation of letters, governs the rules of pronunciation, and maintains the unique rhythmic flow that characterizes Quranic recitation. In the contemporary era, the significance of Tajwid has grown even further due to the rapid expansion of digital technologies, the rise of global communication, and the increasing accessibility of Quranic recitation among diverse linguistic communities. Emerging challenges such as mispronunciation, excessive dependence on online reciters, and the impact of non-Arabic phonetic systems highlight the urgent need for structured and authentic Tajwid instruction. At the same time, modern digital tools, audio-visual resources, and interactive Quran-learning applications offer unprecedented opportunities for effective teaching and learning. This paper explores the enduring importance of Tajwid in safeguarding the Quranic text, evaluates its pedagogical relevance in today’s multicultural world, and examines contemporary methods that support its transmission and preservation.
