Dr. Mukhtar Zafar’s two travelogues, “Su’ye Haram Le Chal” and “Kyun Na Hum Bhi Sair Karingay South Korea Ki”, do far more than simply inform; they weave together personal experiences, historical context, and atmospheric detail into a beautifully balanced narrative. Drawing on both art and intellect, he maintains high standards through vivid scene painting, meticulous descriptions, narrative flow, and eloquent language that keeps the reader fully engaged. Beyond his travel writing, he has published over twenty books, underscoring his scholarly breadth. In these travelogues, the practical aspects of travel specific locations, routes, and environmental conditions are richly detailed. Yet Dr. Zafar also layers his personal observations, emotions, wonder, and intellectual reflections, creating a synthesis that elevates the text from mere reportage to literary masterpiece. As a result, readers feel as if they are right there whether at a sacred site or a modern metropolis experiencing it firsthand. His works stand as a brilliant contribution to Urdu travel writing: informed, culturally aware, stylistically refined, and emotionally compelling. Combined, these elements make his travelogues among the finest in the language.
