This article presents an analytical study of non-marfu narrations related to acts of worship as transmitted from Imam Jafar al-Sadiq (d. 148 AH). Imam Jafar holds a distinguished position in Islamic scholarship, particularly in the fields of jurisprudence and Hadith. Although the narrations examined in this study are not directly attributed to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), they reflect the practical understanding of worship through the teachings of the Companions and early successors. The research highlights that these non-marfu reports play a significant role in understanding applied jurisprudence, especially in matters of worship such as Hajj, Zakah, ritual purity, and related legal rulings. The study further demonstrates that these narrations were not isolated opinions but were deeply rooted in the broader scholarly and practical traditions of early Islam. The article concludes that non-marfuʿ narrations, when analyzed within proper methodological frameworks, contribute meaningfully to Islamic legal discourse. Ignoring them altogether would result in an incomplete understanding of juristic development, particularly in the domain of devotional practices.
