The rise of digital technologies has transformed family life in Pakistan, introducing both opportunities and challenges for parenting. The problem addressed in this study is the growing difficulty parents face in managing children’s engagement with smartphones, social media, and online content while maintaining traditional values and family harmony. The purpose of this research is to explore the challenges Pakistani parents encounter in the digital era and identify strategies of adaptation that help preserve family cohesion and psychological wellbeing.A mixed-methods approach was employed, including surveys and in-depth interviews with parents from urban and rural areas, to assess digital parenting practices, parental monitoring, and the perceived impact on children’s behavior and emotional health. Findings indicate that excessive screen exposure and uncontrolled access to online platforms increase conflicts within families, reduce quality parent-child interaction, and contribute to stress for both children and parents . Parents who implement structured screen-time limits, engage in co-viewing, and promote digital literacy report better family adaptation. The study concludes that effective digital parenting in Pakistan requires awareness programs, community support, and adaptive strategies that balance technological engagement with cultural and familial values.
