This research article provides a comprehensive analysis of the term Al-Fitna, focusing on its dual nature as a linguistic concept and a legal construct within the framework of Tafsir Tibyan-ul-Quran. The study investigates the semantic evolution of the word—from its root meaning of "refining gold by fire" to its broader Quranic applications involving trials of faith and civil strife. Furthermore, it delves into the juristic implications (Fiqh) as discussed by Allama Ghulam Rasool Saeedi, highlighting the distinction between individual trials and collective social disruptions. By synthesizing these perspectives, the article concludes that Tibyan-ul-Quran offers a balanced hermeneutical approach that reconciles the historical context of the revelations with contemporary socio-legal challenges, providing a clearer roadmap for understanding the boundaries of "Fitna" in modern Islamic jurisprudence.
