Abstract

This article explores the historical trajectory and spiritual legacy of the Naqshbandiya Mujaddidiya Salamiya Sufi order, specifically focusing on the lineage established and flourished in Pir Sabaq, Nowshera, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The study traces the genealogical and spiritual connection (Silsila) starting from the Holy Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, through the pivotal figure of Imam Rabbani Sheikh Ahmad Sirhindi, to the prominent masters of the Damani and Swagi branches. The core of this research highlights the life and teachings of Hazrat Sheikh Haji Muhammad Abdul Salam (known as Pir Sabaq Baba Ji), a towering figure of the 20th century who revitalized the Prophetic Sunnah and the Naqshbandi path in northern Pakistan. The article examines the transition of spiritual authority (Khilafat) through revered masters such as Sheikh Muhammad Usman Damani, Sheikh Sirajuddin, and Sheikh Abdul Ghafoor (Baba Ji Raitam). By analyzing the geographical spread of their shrines (Mazarat) and the methodology of their spiritual training (Tarbiyah), this study demonstrates the order's role in preserving Islamic orthodoxy and fostering inner purification. The findings underscore the continuous, unbroken chain of the Salamiya branch as a bastion of spiritual guidance in the contemporary era.
